The Grand Phurbe Tordhok Puja
8th January 2015

Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche conducting a week-long Grand Vajrakilaya Tordhok Puja in Dechen Choekhor prior to the arrival of LOSAR, the Tibetan New Year.

Vajrakilaya, Dorje Phurba is the wrathful manifestation and embodiment of the enlightened activities of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. He is renowned for its power and swiftness in removing obstacles, destroying negative forces and purifying defilements, both worldly and spiritual, which is so prevalent in this time of degeneration.

The Phurbe Tordhok puja invoked the wrathful activities of Vajrakilaya, which is traditionally performed on the final few days of the last month of the year to destroy, cleanse and pacify all the negative forces, demonic influences, undesirable circumstances, ill-luck, sicknesses, and obstacles before the beginning of a New Year. That's why it's also sometimes called the "Year-End Obstacles Removal Puja" - removing and pacifying all negativities accumulated over the entire year.

At the special request of the faithful monks of Nangchen Garh, Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche conducted the traditional rituals and puja to bless the unique memorial stupa (Tib: Kudung Chorten - the stupa of the holy body) of the late Adeu Rinpoche. After that, Rinpoche proceeds to bless every floor and every single temple in the Tsechu Monastery (Nangchen Garh).
The next day, Choegon Rinpoche led the Guru Offering (Lama Chopa) and conferred a full-day  empowerment of Chakrasamvara, Vajravarahi and Mahakala to all Rinpoches, Tulkus, monks and nuns in Tsechu Monastery of Adeu Rinpoche. It's a truly blessed, auspicious and heart-warming to see the joy on every face when their quest and longing for the return of their guru finally were answered.
