Refuge Taking and Hair Cutting Ceremony for Pema Choegyal
Last updated on 28th November 2013

Under the repetitive request of the monks of Nangchen, particularly the faithful sanghas of Nangchen Garh, Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche has finally returned to the beloved holy land of his root guru in August of year 2013.

After such a long wait, the heart-warming and inspiring moment has dawned for these two great masters of Drukpa Kargyu to meet again. From the Vajrayana perspective, nothing could be more meaningful than the reunion of a guru and his heart-son.

The primary objective of this trip is to perform the hair-cutting ceremony for the six-year-old  Pema Choegyal, and to conduct various relevant rituals according to the conventional Vajrayana tradition. This also fulfilled the wishes of the late Adeu Rinpoche that his reincarnation should be recognised, enthroned and trained by his heart-son whom he has passed and entrusted his entire lineage to.

At the special request of the faithful monks of Nangchen Garh, Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche conducted the traditional rituals and puja to bless the unique memorial stupa (Tib: Kudung Chorten - the stupa of the holy body) of the late Adeu Rinpoche. After that, Rinpoche proceeds to bless every floor and every single temple in the Tsechu Monastery (Nangchen Garh).
The next day, Choegon Rinpoche led the Guru Offering (Lama Chopa) and conferred a full-day  empowerment of Chakrasamvara, Vajravarahi and Mahakala to all Rinpoches, Tulkus, monks and nuns in Tsechu Monastery of Adeu Rinpoche. It's a truly blessed, auspicious and heart-warming to see the joy on every face when their quest and longing for the return of their guru finally were answered.
