Dear Dharma Friend,
Please be informed that we are currently conducting 'The 100
Million Six-Syllable Amitabha Mantra Recitation' at our monastery,
leads by Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche.
Hundreds of monks and followers from the Himalayan regions are
joining in this month long grand recitation.
This event is initiated and conducted by Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche
and Dechen Choekhor's monks to fulfill Rinpoche's mother wishes of
completing the 100 Million Amitabha mantra recitation for the
benefit of all sentient beings. Both Rinpoche's parent was ones of
the many devoted disciples of previous Choegon Rinpoche. Rinpoche's
mother passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday
morning, 17th February 2011. Rinpoche arrived in Delhi
on 6th February and spent about 10 days with his beloved mother.
Rinpoche was by her side until the very last moment.
The Grand Amitabha Recitation is perform at both Dechen Choekhor
Monastery and Tsopema, the holy place of Guru Rinpoche. There are 5
recitation sessions daily as below:
a) Morning Session 1: 7am - 9am
b) Morning Session 2: 9.30am - 12noon
c) Afternoon Session 1: 2pm - 3.30pm
d) Afternoon Session 2: 4pm - 5.30pm
e) Evening Session: 7.30pm - 9.30pm
All are encourage to join this grand recitation by reciting the
short Amitabha mantra "Om Ami Dewa Hrih" at home or wherever your
are.
On top of the above, Dechen Choekhor Monastery is currently
conducting Buddha Akshobhya Jangchok Puja for Rinpoche's late
mother and soon will start The 35 Buddhas Puja. Rinpoche will be in
Kullu until the completion of the 49 days Jangchok Puja.
